This was a throw together that won big with the mr and the babe. I threw everything in the picture in a pot and called it dinner. The freezer bag is a pack of previously cooked hamburger meat. I usually will buy 3-5 pounds and cook it all with my staple seasoning and then divide and freeze it.
This made enough that i froze half. With a little one running around controlling pretty much everything, its nice to have something healthy to just grab and throw in the microwave.

Cloth diapers (poopy style)
So, we are now proud parents to a wonderful one year old. Which means that i have changed 3.9 billion diapers of which at least 1.3 billion were poopy! Then, those diapers (cloth) had to ve washed. At first, i could just throw them in the washer because newborn poopy isnt solid. As the diaper count grew the poopy thickened, yikes. I love cloth diapers for our little one. There are so many reasons why it's the better choice. The downside is cleaning them. At first, i was literally hands on. I would kind of shake them in the toilet, in the water!!! If your a parent, you're reading this like " yeah, you do whatever you have to for your little loves " non parents are reading this like "what!?! No fricking way" haha
I did what i had to, but i didn't like it. I keep thinking i wish i could spray it off but i didn't want to use our kitchen sink. Then, i hit the mr. With my idea to spray them into the toilet and three trips to store later, poopy diapers are no longer my nemesis.

Another basket makeover
This is a plastic basket that i picked up at the dollar store. They only offered this one color. I need that I wanted it to have a somewhat worn look. I first spray paint the whole thing black. Then, just using some acrylic crafters paint in gold(this stuff is i think 50 cents at walmart) i applied gold accenting with my finger, haha. It is a washable paint. Now, i have a chic basket to hold Baby Z's diapers.

Easy DIY basket update
I picked this basket out at a resale shop for baby Z's nursery. It was the perfect size for her cloth diaper hamper. I love that it had a lid because, well we are talking poopy diapers here:) The colors were wrong but a little paint and a couple minutes and it was perfect.

Insulation, wiring, sheetrock, oh my
A lot has been going on over here at the lakeside homestead. we finished all the wall framing. Next, we put in all the insulation. Regular R-13 is standard for wall insulation. for the floor and the ceiling we used R 30. Then we put in all of the wiring for outlets and light switches and the lights themselves. Next up was putting the actual wall up for that you use sheetrock. So many hours of measuring and cutting reader almost all of the sheetrock is done.

Wall Framing
Wall framing made easy. So we started with a slight sketch of what we wanted on graphing paper. the real design however came from an app on my iPad.
Useful tips / tools. get yourself a nail gun. other tools that will be needed are a square, a level, chalk line, and extremely helpful C clips.
