Falling in love with Fall

This is my favorite tree so I wanted to share its journey into fall.

Some of our trees are hanging onto their beautiful green.

Our homestead is now littered with leaves and acorns. Bella will  pick up a few acorns and munch on them until she falls asleep. It's mega cute.

This tree is above our tent awns sadly it lost the majority of its leaves on Thanksgiving. It was such an amazing sight to see the breeze move in and take with it half the tree.

Hope y'all had a safe and happy Thanksgiving. As we move into crazy Black Friday and small business Saturday remember to keep it green, clean, and classy.

Refinishing wood stain

Refinishing a wooden rocker. The prep work is the hardest part and it's not hard. First if you are working with a previously stained wood you will need to remove or strip it. Then of course sand, sand, sand. Before y'all jump right into photo instructions I wanted to share baby Bella. She hates the cold so she has been laying out soaking up the sun and it's just the cutest thing. Goats don't sprawl out like this is nature. They sleep with their feet, haha I ment hooves, tucked under them.

Notice mr Sainic in the back watching his baby sister:)

Ok back to the chair.
The before
Pretty worn but still really sturdy.

One coat later. Stain is thin so you should always apply three coats as a minimum and more coats in high traffic areas.

The refinishing made the chair look so good that I now feel the need to make a seat cushion but with a million projects in the air I'm lacking the time and motivation :/ sigh :)
Till next time y'all keep it green, clean, and classy over the thanksgiving holiday.

Ps ... Did you know "ps" stands for post script
Pss ... Notice in the background past the chickens, even past the dog there is a little bit of our next project showing:)

Chicken wearing a Saddle, plus pics

So I have some pictures of the chicken saddle. This model is Red. She is much smaller than the previous saddle so I cut down the sides on this one and sewed the straps right to the leather.
The roosters still give her attention but now she doesn't cry so I'm assuming the saddle works:)

You can see how the saddle goes under her wings.

This baby girl just kills me. I love her little face.

I just love frogs and toads. This guy is George.

Diy doors for our Sud Shack

I'm finally posting about the homestead! So, it's been awhile since I shared the progress on the suds shack but I'm bringing it back. Reach to your long term memory bank and you will recall that last I left you with the pallet walls and screen. Well, next on the to do list was the fourth and final wall composed of two side by side doors.

Notice that I still haven't gotten all the screening done, ugh.

So that board on the floor was to ensure that we got a straight fit.

We had some fence boards left over from our precious garden. The wider boards worked really well but we didn't have enough:(

I threw in photos of my chicken scratch notes.

Till next time, y'all already know...keep it green, clean, and classy.
