Disbudded - ugly truth

This is my little warrior on the day of his disbudding. Disbudding is the act of stopping horn growth and this is done by circular burning of the horn and cells around the horn.
I mentioned before that Mr and I were present for that experience and it horrified us. He cried but only while it was happening, then he appeared to be fine. It has now been three weeks and he has opened the scabbed area twice.

The ole internet says that this is "normal" healing process and to keep it clean and dry and wait out till the scab falls off but we haven't had a disbudded goat before and when you are in love you worry. So, Iolaus has an appointment with the vet today to get a check up.

Wish us luck and a prayer is always appreciated. I will keep y'all posted. Till then y'all keep it green, clean, and classy.
