Diy Purse Makeover

Before I get into this how to diy, I want to share with you my pit crew for the day:)

This last one is of my smallest chica, blackie, it's just the angle making her so Godzilla sized.

Before...cute but a bit too simple

Supplies

I just used the cap as my paint holder.

I just painted along one side at a time, so I wouldn't smudge or go over the stitch line.

All done...because it's just acrylic paint I did this in doors and it only took 2 episodes of C.S.I

DIY Hanging Plant Holder

I made this with some scrap materials and a pair of jeans donated to me by my mom. Thanks momma :) and yes I totally made this for her.
What you need to DIY

Side note- this set was a cheap buy from harbor freight and I wouldn't recommend it. Up grade to at least walmart, haha.
I used some laundry and 7lb twine to make the hanging portion (this is over board on the support level but hey better safe than sorry ) braiding the two ropes together was made easy by clipping them to my current library read.
Once I had a strand done I used a rubber band to hold the end together while I continued making the rest of the strands.

With the strands all done I cut a square off the jeans......notice the hoove in the bottom corner.
That's my precious, Bella. She isn't shy when it comes time for her bottle.
How could I ignore that beautiful baby girl.
Once she was feed, I got back to work.
Photo step by step instructions

Ok, this is a pic of my lazyness. I tried skipping the prehole and just going for the gusto, um yeah so don't do that.
Finally all four corners are ready for the hanging strands.
Because of the skipping process I jacked a few of the grommets up so that's what I used to tie off the bottom of the strands.
I looped only one cloths line because the plant isn't even one pound.
Drum roll...
I'm pleased and I'm sure it will be an appreciated gift. (I love how it looks with my other plants so I'm making one for myself)

Please share/post/follow :) thanks

Diy Entry Way

If you are like me the. Your door just opens into your living room. I hate that. My living room is a drop spot for keys, for my purse, hats, and shoes (all this times two because my Mr. is also guilty of leaving his things about). I had to come up with something that would give me a designated zone so my mornings could be spent having a cup of joe, not running around looking for keys. I  knew I wanted to have a coat rack and a place for keys and pocket items.  The dilemma was financial :( isn't that always the problem... I had to get crafty, this is what I came up with....

I had one of those cheap metal shelf units...the one that goes over a toilet.

I thought it would work nicely because of the space at the bottom. It's exactly the height needed to have some hanging storage.

Like all of my d.i.y. projects, this one starts with paint... You should always sand down the surface so the paint has something to stick to. Here I chose black.  I went with black because it is modern and simple.

After the paint dried, I added the "backing". Now I use the word backing in quotes because it is not there for support, just looks :) I got some poster board... 2 for $1 ... Covered  one side with wrapping paper that i just taped to the back and a "backing" was made.

Now, your ready to accessorize it for better organization. I just used what I already had around the house.
A couple tote buckets up top for scarves and hats, added one of those organizer boxes with spots for all the phones and iPods and cameras, two glass cups from the kitchen to hold pens, markers, and reading glasses, and finally a tray for my sunglasses...yes, I said "my" because those are all mine. I love sunglasses.
These tote buckets were pink but I painted them so everything would look more cohesive. I love paint too:)
Look how lovely my sunglasses look all lined up.

Happy weekend y'all

Necklace Makeover

I got this funky necklace so long ago that I don't really even remember but I believe it was a buy so many and get a free one! Haha ok so it isn't the prettiest thing in my jewelry box but I like the shape and the length so I thought I would just paint it.
Of course, I think of painting it; that is like my first thought for everything:)
Before
After
Much improved :)
And now some animal love

This dog isn't even our dog, but he loves us so he gets a spotlight moment:)

Project Studio

I'm actually really sad that I don't have more photos for this post. If I had know from the start that I would be documenting the process I would have definitely had my camera in one hand while my other worked the drill.

Let me give you a quick run of what lead up to this

So last I left you at the floor frame. That part was actually really easy. Once it was built it was time to get the post in. My Mr. dug the holes down so that two feet of the 4x4 post would be in the ground. You don't want wood meeting up with earth or you will end up with a rotten board or termites. To prevent future problems, add support, and just do it the American way you gotta have concrete.

Holes now have post and they are solid so the floor frame goes on that. Next, we filled the floor frame with insulation and added some extra 2x4's in between for even structural support.

Seeing the floor up on post gave us a platform to stand on and hope that the project would run smoothly but that was not the case.
The rain started early the next evening and continued into the night. Me and Mr go out and try to salvage the situation, but really the damage is done. All of our insulation and the plywood floors are soaked.

We salvaged what we could and moved on with the project, now determined to beat the weather we got to work on the walls. We framed out our walls with studs every 16 inches. Mr had the brilliant idea to build the walls then lift them up because our platform/future studio isn't big enough to work on.
This front wall isn't framed with typical 16 inch spacing because it's framed for windows. I'm trying not to get to ahead of myself because it's like a zillion man hours away from windows.

Ok that's all I got for you studio-wise anyway but I do have a couple pics of the animal fun time that went done during this:)

Look at that face!
What could get the boys this excited?...why sushi, of course, haha too funny/cute not to give it a try and they are Brickhouse puppy approved
Then he grabs his toy duck and takes off:)
